Executive Customer Advisory Board Member
Ms. Raina Avalon is currently the Executive Vice President, Chief Logistics Officer for TJX Companies, Inc. Since joining, she has led the Logistics team through a reorganization to improve the end-to-end supply chain, make it simpler for business partners to engage with TJX, improve store delivery performance and enhance governance & standards across the supply chain, all through standardized services. Logistics is building out a Center of Excellence, designed to increase the strategy and analytics capabilities of the team to ensure greater value to the organization. Overall, she and her team plan to drive efficiencies and excellent service to aid in providing TJX customers an even more rewarding experience!
Prior to joining TJX, Raina was in Houston, TX, and worked as the Vice President of Logistics for Sysco, the world’s largest Food Distributor. Raina oversaw the logistics & transportation area, for both the inbound North American and import segments of the foodservice business. She managed a network providing inbound service into more than 220+ Operating companies (distribution centers), serving Sysco’s 450,000 customers. Her team was responsible for compliance to all regulatory agencies, including US Customs, CPSC, OSHA, DOT, FDA and FMCSA. Raina also co-led and implemented a Women’s Leadership Forum called IMPACT for Sysco’s corporate headquarters. The Forum was designed to provide resources and support for current and future women leaders who strive to broaden and enhance their leadership skills and self-awareness through education, collaboration, and networking.
Prior to Sysco, Raina was formerly the Vice President of Transportation for Family Dollar Stores, Inc. where she was responsible for the inbound and outbound transportation of domestic and imported products through Family Dollar’s network. Prior to joining Family Dollar in 2006, she was employed by the Dollar General Corporation as Sr. Director, Transportation Operations. She has more than 30 years of experience in transportation and logistics. Ms. Avalon earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California State University at Los Angeles. She is an active member of several professional associations, including RILA-Retail Industry Leaders Association, CSCMP-the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, NEW, the Network for Executive Women-Consumer Products & Retail Industry, and serves on the Advisory Board for The Root Cause, a non-profit designed to eradicate Diabetes II. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Girl Scouts Hornet’s Nest Council in Charlotte, NC.
