NIC-place at transport logistic 2017 for the first time

At the transport logistic 2017 in Munich, NIC GmbH, Kempten, is launching the open 24/7 logistics platform NIC-place for the first time. Not only does it organise telematics data independently of manufacturers, but it also offers a digital marketplace for new services along the whole logistics process. Data from different telematics systems are collected, bundled and standardised in real time. Instead of running many different systems, the data integration allows you to work with only one application. “With NIC-place we provide partners with the ideal place to present their offerings to a specific target group. This is based on a database of approximately 1,400 customers or 4,850 users and around 90,000 transport units”, NIC Managing Director Markus Lechner states.
NIC-place’s offer goes beyond the standard telematics applications. In the digital marketplace, users can create their own work environment with so-called NIClets. Perfectly suited to users’ needs and processes, the software modules, services and provision of services from partners as well as hardware solutions facilitate the daily routine for all the parties involved in the transport and logistics industry. An intelligent tour monitoring system with associated escalation management and an ETA calculator for the calculation of the exact time of arrival with the use of traffic data are only two of the many offers that the new platform provides. The only requirement is that the interface of the telematics provider is already integrated and that the necessary telematics data are transferred.
Individually configurable dashboard
The NIC-place dashboard allows for the display of booked NIClets in one application only. Its unique features: the user can create different workspaces completely individually and therefore, for example, set topic-specific priorities. In the workspaces, the NIClets can be adjusted in terms of positioning and size via drag&drop.

The first partners to offer their services on NIC-place are industry leaders as well as niche specialists and start-up companies. The product selection on NIC-place is growing steadily. The new website www.nic-place.com already gives an overall impression of the full extent of NIC-place functions and the associated added values for the user. Various use cases along the logistics process illustrate how NIC-place offers support in the daily logistics routine. For example, in this way partner services are able to reveal cases of fraud when checking the fill level after refuelling; the activation of tour monitoring is also possible supported by external specialists. According to the “pay-by-use” principle, the desired service is easily booked and billed online depending on the scope of the service. At the same time, potential partners can find information on the advantages of the NIC-place distribution channel.
