NIC-place wins German Telematics Award 2018

The “Deutsche Telematikpreis 2018” (German Telematics Award 2018) in the category “Telematics Integration Platform” goes to NIC-place. The Kempten-based company received the prize at the Zukunftskongress Nutzfahrzeuge (Congress for the Future of Commercial Vehicles) in Berlin on November, 7th.

Kempten, Germany, November 8, 2017 – For the second time, the German publisher EuroTransportMedia (ETM) Verlag and Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) honored excellence within the telematics industry with the “German Telematics Award”. The prize is presented in nine categories. It aims to create more transparency within the complex telematics sector as it lacks defined concepts; often identical notions cover different functions and depth of data.

The evaluation of applicants is based on a detailed questionnaire, which covers the entire range of functions. Following the assessment, the jury nominates three solutions with the highest score to move on to the next round, the testing of the solution at the Telematics Lab at DHBW in Friedrichshafen, Germany. Scientists will examine and analyze the nominated solutions. Based on their results, the jury nominates the winner in each of the nine categories.

NIC-place outperformed the competitors in the category “Telematics Integration Portal” and was thus honored by the jury of experts with the coveted award in Berlin. The open telematics platform convinced with its ability to integrate data of more that 100 providers and manufacturers. It also features an innovative market place concept, which allows added-value along the entire logistics chain.

“Logistic processes are at the heart of our application. Our aim is to offer users an overview of their entire fleet with just one solution as well as a possibility to anticipate and react to likely difficulties during transport”, states Pete Jendras, Managing Director NIC GmbH.

Foundation for the data integration is NIC-base, a renowned telematics platform by kasasi. It is able to display more than 90,000 active units (road and rail traffic) and has an impressive 99.99 percent uptime. The modular construction of this modern application offers numerous functions for analysis and monitoring with the aim to increase fleet efficiency. It is also customizable.  Evaluation functions are enriched by modules of partners, so-called NIClets. They may contain various services and products.

The “German Telematics Award” is awarded biennially the German publisher EuroTransportMedia (ETM) Verlag and Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW).
